We had two goals with this project. First was a redesign to improve usability of the vital records ordering flows and secondly we had to create a new page for the user to check order status. To improve usability we applied Texkit patterns and eliminated pages with marginal or duplicate functionality. We applied field and page-level validation to remove redundant review screens. On the status page, the challenge was creating design patterns and clear copy around the data we’d get back from the order lookup. Ultimately the status page would reduce (already high) call volume which increased significantly during the pandemic due to the office closures.
